How to root and install Cyanogenmod ROM on Micromax a74

Hi,
I'm using Micromax a 74 which runs on jellybean.How can I install Cyanogenmod ROM on my device.?Do i need to root my phone before that.? Can anyone please explain.! I checked their official site and my device is not listed.What should i do?
Is it possible to install a common ROM for my phone if a device specific ROM is not available.Can i choose a theme for that ROM.Someone Please Tell me the details,Im trying to root my phone ASAP.

Yes you need to root your device to install Cyanogenmod.To root download Frameroot.apk for your device.And do a google search for that.
And Cyanogenmod is not available for Canvas A74,request has been made for the same.
