How to check whether my application is running out of memory or not?

I have been trying to do an application to store the data when internet connection is not there ? So, I just want to know the limitations, if any , provided by the android or does it depend on internet speed to send the large data stored in buffer sent to the server?
I am doing it on 5.1 lollipop
