I would like to root RemixOS on my Pine64. I guess the way RemixOS is normally installed on an SD card results in a squashfs image on the root of the drive. However, in the case of the Pine64 the raw file system is mountable, readable, and writable one plugged into a linux box. Once I mount the partitions I am able to read and write into system files and directories. Since I have this kind of access, is it possible to root it via CLI with direct file system access?
If so, will someone send me in the right direction for the appropriate info. I am looking for the files I would need, the permissions that would need to be set, scripts that need to be run, and files that need to be edited. I am more than happy to work with anyone willing to guide me also. Thanks!
P.S. I have already been told that the Remix OS guys have no intention of helping us gain root access.
Here is a guide on how to root it on a PC where you can only see the .img files.
