Double tap to wake very buggy

This feature works maybe one time out of 10! It is the same with my friend's XZ too so I can't see how it's a hardware fault.

I've found that this problem only occurs when the screen has timed out by itself. If I press the power button to turn the screen off then the double-tap to wake feature works as intended. If the device is left alone and the screen powers off by itself then the double-tap to wake takes numerous attempts.

Can anyone confirm similar behaviour with their XZ?

I have similar issue with my z3v. I think for me it's stamina mode enablement so the benefits far out way the down side of the double tap to turn on the screen.

I have stamina mode switched off like it was by default.

Yes, I just found out that after you turn the screen off by yourself and the double tap, it's really easy. It only takes two light taps.
When the screen is turned off by itself, I noticed that your taps must not be too quick/ too short. Slower tapping seems to be better and maybe touch it with almost your whole fingerprint if that makes sense to you, instead of hitting it with just the tip of your finger.
