Hi!

I have had my Z1 Compact for almost a year now and it is a brilliant package in my opinion. But recently it started to shut down at around 35-40% battery level. At one point it just goes from showing the battery level at the mentioned level and suddenly a message "battery level below 0%" appears and the phone switches off. Maybe someone might have an idea what could be the reason for that. No recent updates have been done to Android and the phone has been running KitKat 4.4.4. for like half a year probably.

Thanks in advance! ;)

Welcome to Android Central! I would be concerned about a failing battery. Do you typically let the battery drain down to near-zero before charging up again? If so, that can reduce the battery's overall lifespan, and it would not be surprising for it to start showing signs of failure after a year. In general, avoid letting it get below 30-40% on a regular basis.
