If it's too long then you don't HAVE to root your phone. The chances that someone will work on a new method to root when this one took months and works flawlessly is next to zero. What you can do if you feel uncomfortable with the steps(it really wasn't hard to follow) is go over to XDA or maybe G+ and find someone that lives close to you that will do it for you.

Instructions are very detailed indeed, I don't think so I will have a hard time following the instructions. My predicament is, now how do I do this on a Mac running Yosemite. Is there anyone here that can enlightened me on how to do it or give a link of some sort; will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use kingroot (download and run) and it will root automatically, that's what i did
