I heard that the US version is D6646. However there is also the D6633 dual sim.

Can anyone tell me if the D6633 (Dual Sim) Xperia Z3 will work with T-Mobile? If I bought this, will I have problems receiving software updates from T-Mobile?

Please help.

Thanks.

The D6633 has frequency bands of:

UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV),
1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)

So according to :T-Mobile US - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You will probably not get LTE but only up to 4G
Also u probably would not be getting updates from T-Mobile, but from Sony themselves since I am assuming it will be an unlocked phone

Just curious, why would you buy an international version versus the TMo version? Sony's version only comes with 16gb of internal memory versus 32gb of internal memory on the TMo version. The Tmo version also has wifi calling and support for 700 mhz.

Is it because the international version is unlocked?

d6633 is under $670 brand new on ebay, free shipping unlocked. I'm assuming d6646 will set you back $850-$880 depending on state tax included, once released. Sure d6633 only has 16gb, but dual sim slots will accomodate you a pair of 64gb microsd (max capacity of 128gb for the phone) instead of the pricier single microsd 128gb.

you know that dual sim isn’t dual sd cards its dual SIM like in sim cards so you can have two numbers in the phone so you can call and receive like if you have one t-mobile and one virazon or what you have in US

I think there is a typo. There isn't a D6646, it's D6616 as per Sony Xperia's white paper and that one is likely T-Mobiles because it has LTE band 12.

UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV),
1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
LTE (Bands 2, 4, 12)
----------

I ordered the Dual SIM myself so I can use it with AT&T and Fido.

If you want to stick with T-Mobile USA, then D6616 is the only model that will support LTE Band 12. Of course, that model will set you back under $820 after taxes (paid on the spot, or after 2-year 0% interest installments). Insurance extra.

D6603 will save you under $200 on ebay, but no LTE band 12.

Question is: How much faster will LTE (band 12) be, once its rolled out. Coverage areas are still not completely disclosed by t-mobile & who knows when it will cover the majority of the united states. I mean, why look forward to LTE band 12, if you're satisfied with the 4g you're getting now...

The other T-Mobile phones that supports LTE band 12 is the Samsung Galaxy Avant, and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The Iphone 6 DOES NOT support LTE band 12.

I thought that as long as the device has bands 1200/2100 for LTE, then I get LTE service? That is what the D6633 Dual Sim Model has. I contacted T-Moble's live chat, and they said this model will work under the LTE service. Now I am worried. Does it have to be band 12?

Only the D6616 has band 12. The D6603 and D6633 will work on it since it supports the other LTE bands which T-Mobile uses.
