I've been a little disappointed with the Z3's camera performance. Coming from the 1020, I expected a drop off in image quality of which there is but colours at low light have been incredibly poor.
This one was taken on the Z3:

I agree; the Lumia images have superior color but, (though I love win/7 on my computer) who wants to run win/O.S. on their smart phone > too many limitations. MS/Windows needs to step up their game in the "apps - downloads" section. -Davis
Not sure who you were referring to but in most cases go manual. Try to keep the ISO in a respectable range despite Sony's boasting of shooting at an insane 12,800 ISO. All your pictures will most likely come out super noisy. Also lowering the ISO will result in slower shutter speeds. Without optical image stabilization it's best to use a tripod if possible but you can get good results by just holding your hands steady. Try changing the white balance as that may affect the outcome. Also upload the pictures for a better example of what could be the issue.Hey man, did you jsut use Auto settings? I took photos in low light in a ballroom last night- not great ((
