We got my wife a Z3 to replace her Z10. She wanted a phone with a great camera, and everything we read pointed to this phone, so we got it. Ease of use was her goal, so she decided that she was only going to use the automatic setting. Everything was great, and she was quite content until she noticed that certain lighting conditions would cause shiny haze type of look to her pictures. The pictures here are not the most extreme case, but I think they get the point across. IMG_20150219_231929.jpg

Long story short, the effect is caused by the flash. Even though the camera is on automatic, you can still control the flash. Turning the flash off when these hazy pictures start to appear should remove the haze, and your pictures should still look great.

Sorry the pictures are sideways, I'm not sure why AC did that.

We returned one case because it was purple and it was causing a purple haze. This phone has a case as well, but, as far as I can tell, not every flash photo has this issue, just certain lighting conditions.

It'd be interesting to test it out without the case and with flash, when you start noticing the haze.
