Just updated to Lollipop today. So far, I'm liking it. However, is there a way to go straight to the pattern unlock screen when you turn the screen on?

On the Nexus 5, there's no way to do that. So unless Sony modified it, you're stuck with swiping first, then entering your pattern.

Of course, you could always use Smart Lock to bypass the unlock altogether, as long as you're in a Trusted Place or connected to a Trusted Device.

That stinks. I see a lot of complaints about this online too.

Its because of the notifications....they get in the way of the pin pad....that's why its changed in lollipop because lock screen notifications were not in kit Kat..
