Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I just did a Profile and PRL update and after the radio reset by the PRL update it found the GB update and is currently downloading. Before that, the device would report no update available. Worth a try if you still haven't recieved the push... (stock Froyo, btw)

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I didn't end up getting the chance to do the manual update yesterday after work, as I had hoped.
But, a few minutes ago, I grabbed the phone to check the time and lo and behold, the OTA notification was there!!!! Yippie!
I'm at work and my battery is only 49% so, it's charging now.
When it's full, I'll install.
If I encounter any issues, I'll be hitting the boards!
Thanks for your vote of confidence, Paul! - 11-18-2011, 11:16 AM #79

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
Judging from some of the users chiming in that they received it today, Google must have the OTA juice turned up to catch the remaining users that didn't receive it yet

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I just got back my phone today. I had to send it off to Samsung for repair. The update showed up almost immediately. Downloaded and installed pretty quickly.
My phone was unrooted and running stock when I got it back. Don't know if the update would have showed up and worked if my phone was still rooted at the time. - 11-18-2011, 02:05 PM #83
Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I got the notification yesterday selected instal now. It restarted in what looks like the hard reset menu did something but then gave me the reset menu options i.e. reboot, instal from sd card etc. It rebooted and nothing still on Froyo. I am rooted and that is it no roms, kernels etc. Havent recieved notification again.

Sorry i'm mobile so I can't do links very easy. Goto the official GB update thread and see the original post and towards ths bottom you will see the link to restore to Froyo with Odin.
Do that and then you should receive the OTA update after you get on stock/unrooted Froyo.

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I went to youtube found someone who linked a program from Samsung called SWUpgrade for SPH-D700 and followed the instructions and it worked. Root is gone and it is now updating to EC05, then I will update to EI22. Took awhile but I am making progress.
Again thank you for helping me! - 11-18-2011, 09:39 PM #92
Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I got my OTA today and later flashed the Kernel fix, CWM Purple, Superuser, and the GPS fix. Both our Epics were only getting 4 of 9 sats after the update. As soon as I flashed the OTA, I started getting 8/9. My wife doesn't really use the GPS and probably wouldn't notice much of an improvement over highway nav, but she may decide to let me root hers to freeze or remove bloat and stuff.

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
Yes I am aware of the program. Its basically a "doctored" or masked for Windows version of Odin. Its all user friendly but behind the fancy Windows prompts its Odin in disguise... It takes all the "risks" out of the general user actually having to setup and use actual Odin.
Actually let you in on a little secret, we pulled the Froyo EB13 Odin tar from this program after it installs on your computer. If you were to look in your computer where it was installed you will find the Odin tar file for Froyo EB13 in there.
Look in this location on your computer
C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade for SPH-D700\Models\Binary\SPH-D700-EB13-8Gb-REL.tar.md5
Same file can be used in Odin

Pretty cool huh?
Glad things worked out....

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
So I was going to finally MANUALLY upgrade last night after backing up my SDcard and then when I activated my 'background data' in order to DL an SMS backup app.....lo and behold what pops up.....my OTA!!! This is my first OTA since I've had this phone because I've been impatient up until now to upgrade. I held out this time because the last time I upgraded to Froyo, I forgot to backup a lot of important info that was on my phone and didn't want to make the same mistake again! What I wanted to ask you guys is if I should do a factory reset to get good/better/best (if any) performance since most of my stuff from froyo is still there? Phone seems to be working well for me now though. Thoughts?

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
I got my update Friday the 18th around 6 am and I have to say, I feel like I finally have a complete phone. Will it be enough from me going back to iPhone, probably not

Re: Has anyone received EI22 OTA?
Thanks, Paul. And yes - lol! I guess as the saying goes "better late than never!" The OTA went smooth. I've been spending the past 24 hours checking things out, what's diff, what's not, all of that. Overall, I'm content and happy to have gingerbread in time for the holidays! I'll likely be lurking around the boards, periodically.
Best of luck to you as well (doing it big with the Nexus - lol), and thanks for your unmatched support of remaining Epic users, such as myself.
~ Regards,
