My Epic 4G was constantly powering off & I read that a reset was the way to go... so I was able to get into recovery mode but now I can't select an option b/c my home button on the touch screen will not do anything.

I searched the forums & saw that the camera button might work for selection... tried that & it didn't work for me. Is there a manual or keyboard way to choose the selection or back out of recovery mode?

Pull battery and reboot. There should be an option to do a data reset from within Android. It will boot to recovery and perform the action automatically.

Every time I take out the battery & put it back in then power on it's still on the recovery mode screen. I can make it go into download mode by pressing 1 on the keyboard & power simultaneously but I don't know how to make it power on as normal since my touch home button won't respond and I don't know of a keyboard button sequence to do so.

Out of curiosity, have you tried to use the physical "home" button on the keyboard?
