Rooted my phone last night and LED now works?

So, I took the plunge and rooted my Epic last night,it was acutally super easy. I did nothing else,and this morning I got an email and the LED is now flashing red every 5 seconds or so. Is this common? And is it possible to use one of the LED clor changing apps now? Thanks!

When you rooted, you probably also changed the kernel (go into your phone properties, and you'll see it's not stock). The LED issue was with the newest stock kernel, Samsung broke it, and have not restored it with an update yet. A lot of the root methods on the Epic also change the kernel. So simple answer, yes, it's normal for it to work when rooted.

I followed a video on You Tube by QBKing77, it was super easy. My kernel is listed as 2.6.35.7
Now its time to back everything up while it's working well.... Then idk what!
