Facebook will not work on my Epic

I've logged into the facebook app on the Epic and it keeps telling me "cannot retrieve notifications, try again later"...anyone else having this probem?

So far I am not having that issue..... But I am not getting facebook accounts showing in my contacts.

The news feed and everything works and it has linked all my contacts appropriately, but I just can't get my notifications to work. Is there anyway to uninstall/reinstall the app? Any ideas?

I had the same problem. I ended up uninstalling the app and reinstalled it from the market and that fixed it. To add facebook to your contacts you have to add them to your contacts account. Open contacts, click activities, press the menu button in lower left corner, press accounts then press add account.

Weird, everything works on mine except the news feed. I get "An error had occured while fetching data. [null]"

uninstall/reinstall the app. at home page press menu,then settings then applications,then manage applications. click facebook then uninstall. Also if you go to the market and just download it. the new version will replace the old one and that should fix the problem

That seemed to fix it. So the notifications in the fb app just links u back to fb mobile?

I was getting the same error also until I downloaded it again from the market. The Facebook app that was pre-installed on the device was an older version than the one in the market. But because it was pre-installed and not through the market it wouldn't tell you there was an update

I have the same problem and I can't uninstall the preinstalled app and it wont update either

I had a similar error. Here's what I did to fix it:

1)Uninstall
2)Restart phone
3)Install upgrade
4) Load Facebook App. It will behave as if you're using it for the first time.

would rooting the phone mess with this? I removed the FB account then added it more than once before and after updating the app and when i uninstall the app its still in my applications
