Default No picture for incoming call

I loved how on the evo I would have all my fb contacts pics show up as contact pics but I cant do it on this phone...what gives samsung? Also on a contact when you pull up their fb pics it takes you to the mobile site to view them!!! This sucks..I do like the phone though

I was able to set up this on my wife's Epic. It does exactly the same thing as my EVO. Just set up your FB account, and then sync it into contacts, it takes a while (depending on the contacts), but it does it.

I just signed in to the FB app and it asked me if I wanted to sync my contacts. Boom. It was that simple. I now have all of the FB pics too.

I agree! I think there was an option to pick your contacts manually. However, I might be thinking of something else...yesterday is a blur.

yes, u can manually select contacts to add to your phone book. I only added about 70 friends from Facebook, then rest...I did NOT want them on my phonebook haha.

How long did it take to synch? I did it yesterday but must of stopped it because none of my FB contact pics got synched with my contacts. I removed the FB account this morning, and added it back again so I could go through the syncing process properly. It's been "loading" for over 30 min now. Is that normal?

**EDIT**: I downloaded the new FB app & installed it. Ran the sync - bingo! I can see all my FB contact photos now. Thanks for the tip!

I uninstalled the update, rebooted the phone, and then reinstalled the update... It is still syncing 10 minutes later... Any other ideas?

I've tried everything, but now it's just syncing every FB contact who has a phone number listed in their profile.

My hero synced FB contacts who were on my Gmail contacts list.

theres an option from the contacts menu, only show contacts with phone numbers, that will help alleviate most of the facebook contacts from your contacts

Default Make Facebook picture default for calls on Froyo

I'm rooted and upgraded to Froyo...
When making or receiving calls, SMS, the default picture is always the Google picture now for the contact. All of my contacts have Facebook pictures, but most don't have Google, so most calls I receive have no pictures.
I don't remember this being a problem with 2.1, so I wonder if the flashed 2.2 ROM is causing the problem.
Can anyone reproduce this problem? Any way to make FB the default for contact pictures on incoming calls/txt?
BTW, the FB picture is displayed in the contacts list...just not calls/txt.

I think its aproblem with facebooks sync.

I'd try uninstalling and try and make sure it takes away the Facebook pictures. If not hopefully it won't be a problem. Then reinstall and just have it sync again.

I'm not sure if this will work, this is just something I would try afterall it I'd pretty east to do

Default No contact pictures during call with Froyo?

Hmmm, i may have just noticed this with Froyo, but there's no contact pictures when people call me. It shows the default silhouette. The pictures are there in Handcent, but not calls.

Anyone know if this is an issue with the Froyo leak? Or is it just specific to my phone?

    Thanks

I have the same problem. I installed a free app called "Syncmypix", and that fixed it. Probably an issue with the release of Froyo...

This app will sync your Facebook friends pictures with their Gmail contact, they will then display properly in phone, contacts, messaging, etc.

Default No picture for incoming call

If I recall correctly from the HTC Hero phone, I could have a picture display for an incoming call. I have the Epic synchronized with Facebook, so I have pictures for some of my contacts. These pictures came from Facebook. If someone who is one of my Facebook friends calls me and I have their picture in the contacts, I don't see that picture when they call. All I see is just a picture place holder. Do I need to have an actual picture that I took with the camera in order for there to be a picture when that contact calls me?

No I used pictures from Facebook myself but I believe in your Contacts when you edit each Contact it will have a line where you select to add a picture to the contact. I do remember I took the pictures I liked from Facebook and saved them to my SD card on my phone then selected each picture per contact to make it work. Maybe there is another way, not sure..

I have mine synced with facebook and their profile pictures show up with incoming/outgoing calls as well as in the stock messaging app. Didn't have to do anything special
