    Default Pop Up Notifications

Coming from the WM world, I really miss the pop up notifications for events
    (i.e. Calendar, e-mail and such).

The notification bar is rather small and it is easy to miss the icons for missed calls, e-mail and voice mail. The calender notification is a little box with a number in it.

I am looking for something with a little more pop in the main area..you know like a pop up window !!!!

I am sure there is a widget for that somewhere...

There's an app for text messaging. Handcent has it built-in as well as popup sms. Don't know about other apps.

For sms try handcent sms. Not sure if there is a email pop up solution.

Ever OS has a different way of doing notifications. IPhone and wm does pop-up style, android and WebOS do notification bars (though WebOS does it a bot differently).

    Default I miss popups too!

I also had a windows-mobile phone and had no idea that the pop-ups were so handy! I hate that the Epic doesn't show me how many emails or text messages I have on my home screen! I am coming from an HTC Touch where #1) I would get a popup with each new message and #2) the notification status on the home page was much bigger and kept count. I happened to click my "messaging" icon today on my Epic and discovered SIX text messages that I had missed the notifications on!

That is my biggest gripe with this phone. It may just take some getting used to, but it's keeping me from loving it...

I actually installed launcherpro (free), and one of the settings allows you to have a running total of new calls/messages/emails on each icon, respectively. Check it out.

Any way to have the pop up only appear when I tap the message on the notification bar?

Your issues are with Android not the epic. That's just the way the os works

    Hello!

You can try Popup Notifications, which pop ups as soon as you receive an sms. It will expand to more notification sources soon, like Gmail and SocialMedia! It also supports themes!
