I have seen this issue when just charging battery.

Have not gotten this yet. So far my Epic has been FAR more resilient to use while charging than my Touch Pro EVER was.

Charging heats up the phone and using it at the same time seems like it could overheat the phone. Remember, this is a super smartphone and it can run a lot of tasks at the same time without you knowing. I suggest you check your task manager to see if anything else is running at the same time.

Where was your phone?
I couldn't charge and use my Touch Pro in it's car cradle during the day. It got too hot, and the sunlight would just fry it.
You can also try extending the keyboard. Should give you more surface area to help dissipate heat... - 09-04-2010, 04:07 PM #7
Well, it seems like Samsung's got some software issues to iron out. Believe it or not, but battery life can be a software issue! I'm not to worried as I've gone through all these problems in other phones. However, I find it strange that my mom got 17 hours on her Epic yesterday and it would charge properly. My question is if these phones are lemons or if the batteries are lemons or if these issues are just some of those that just take a week to iron out. I vote for the latterest (lol, that's not even a word!).

Re: Battery overheating plugged in
This was a problem on the EE03 and EF02 ROMs. If your phone has one of those ROMs, then that might be the case.
