Default Third Epic is the charm!!!

Yep it took me only three Epics to get it right. This afternoon I went back to Radioshack and swapped out my second Epic because of the nagging unresponsive touch keys at the bottom of the phone. I am proud to say that my Epic is fully functional and all of my keys respond like they are supposed to.

Hey guys, can you post your build dates for the device that is now working for you folks. Maybe there could be some corelation between the working models and their batch number.

08/16/2010:battery and 08/10: phone on my device and everything works phenomenally! Wish I could say the same about my hero... doesn't look like its charging anymore. I'm going to see if its just the ROM or not. if it isn't I'm going into Sprint and getting my $60 for it. I didn't even pay for the phone originally, it was a replacement for my 5th pre. I'll sell my accessories separately.

Well it looks like Epics from August's or third week are doing little better. In another thread somewhere I read somebody exchanging his epic with one from Aug 16 date and it did not have the issues he was having with one from earlier make. I know two or three people's numbers are not enough to make a generalized statement, but still I hope certain problems are batch specific only and not affecting the whole lineup.

Stamped on the battery and under the battery on the phone itself is a sticker. Mine says 10.07 (I am assuming it was made in July of this year).

Confirmed 10.07 is July while 10.08 is an August build.

We should start a thread with build dates and screen quality / battery life.

Exactly what I suspected. So it looks like devices made in august are performing better than ones made earlier. Still a speculation, but strong enough to get it polled.

My phone build date is 8-10 but my battery build date is 7-25-10. I had some major battery issues initially but they seem to have calmed down with a couple full drain/charge cycles (I think it wasn't calibrated properly yet). I may try to get the battery replaced because it seems that people with an 8-10 battery are having significantly better longevity. Looking forward to the results posted.
