Epic mounts even when I chose just charging mode
Whats the point of having 3 options when pluggng USB into PC...
Like the Palm Pre.. when ever my Epic is plugged into my PC's USB port the phone has a pop-up option menu
Just charging
Tethering
USB mode.
I select just charging...
But it still mounts....? is there a way for the phone to execute to just charge when that is What i chose for it to do..?Please add thanks if I have helped you in anyway. I will always spread the Aloha and reciprocate.

I get..
Charging
Mass Storage
Tethered
What do you mean by mounting? If you select mass storage you should get a pop up from a PC that asks you if you want to download something like pictures or files.
If you select tethering the handset will ask you for a network.
If you select charging it stays connected but nothing should pop up on the computer or the phone and the phone should go into charging mode thats it.Samsung Epic

Are you using the USB cable that came with your phone? I have had an interesting thing where a non-stock USB cable brings up the three options when plugged into a car or wall charger. If I am using the stock cable and am not plugged into a PC it simply just starts charging.
So it may be a cable issue.Last edited by pastorich1; 09-08-2010 at 12:34 PM.

I have the same (issue?) thing happen to me. I've turned off all autoplay so it doesn't actually affect use at all but when I've plugged the phone into my computer and selected charge only, it does mount the SD card. It shouldn't cause any problem on your phone unless you are writing a file and pull out the cable.

$5 says you installed the doubleTwist app. By default, doubleTwist will force it to mount as mass storage.... regardless of what you pick.
You can turn that off in the settings for doubleTwist. - 09-10-2010, 01:31 AM #12Thanked by:

Thank you everyone for the replies..
I had doubletwist installed..
I just deleted it, funny thing is i do not like double twist as much as i like meridian or mixzing for media playback, i like the scrolling of meridian and menu UI on Mixzing..Please add thanks if I have helped you in anyway. I will always spread the Aloha and reciprocate.
