Last night I activated the hotspot option on my phone since I have 4g at home. It wouldn't let me connect to the internet though. I called sprint and the solution was this.
go into wireless and settings main menu.
unselect password
change the opens from 5 to 1 since there is no password used anymore.
if you need more openings, use more, but close when finished.
