    Default Music player crashing

Anybody having this problem? I thought it was a consequence of 2.1's general bugs, but I'm now running a custom ROM / kernel (baked snack 1.6) and it's still happening. It started when I switched from Poweramp to Doubletwist. DT worked fine for awhile, but then it started crashing randomly - typically within the first ten seconds or so of a song. Very frustrating, and very inconsistent, though I could make no distinction about the circumstances under which it would occur.

I tried everything (cause I really liked DT) but finally had to say goodbye... only to discover that my stock music player now exhibits the same symptoms. Has this been happening to anyone else?

Have you removed any DRM related services from your phone?

I have startup auditor kill the DRM Service process on bootup, but I'm not playing any DRM protected media - mostly mp3s. Could it still affect that? I'm fairly certain it's not caused by baked snack, because this problem started long before I even rooted.

I'm theorizing it may be a problem with my sdcard reader - it will infrequently but randomly be unable to read my sdcard, requiring a battery pull to fix (a soft reboot won't do it).

Actually deleting the DRM service can cause media playback problems, but simply disabling it won't. Your theory sounds plausible - try formatting your SD card/using a different one and see if that helps.
