When my battery gets to 15% I get the low battery warning and worst of all cant open my camer app. Nobody likes this but I cant find anywhere whether there is or isn't a way around it. Any suggestions/solutions would be great.

you could use vignette. It gets around that warning. Obviously, it won't have all the same scenes/settings and etc.

There is another solution available for this purpose, you may try the App named "Low Battery Camera" from android market, its specifically designed for the same purpose.

This is a Samsung thing. My previous phone, the Exclaim which was a feature phone, had did the same thing once the battery got to a certain point.

any camera app will do the trick outside of the built in app. I've always got 2 or 3 on there to use in case I ever forget to charge my battery. I haven't found one that didn't work in low battery

If your running Bonsai or Syndicate ROMs they have the low battery warning on camera/video/playback removed.
