List your EC05 Problems/Praise

With the EC05 becoming more available via manual or OTA updates, I'd like to start a thread on any problems/praise people are having and list how they put EC05 on their Epic.

I am rooted and plan to update via Odin with full wipe tonight since I'm gonna take my Epic for a jog in a bit and will report back.

So far, I hear the Modem is giving mixed results- some say they get more bars now and some say they cannot get 3G connection.

EC05 is more available? i feel like 85% of owners still don't have it 4 days after its release......

Battery Life Has Improved Greatly. Used to get about 6 hours on heavy use. Now getting 15 hours with 39% left.

Let us know if they fixed the Sports mode for the camera from EB13.

I meant you can also manually install it. Instead of waiting, I'm doing it now via Odin.

Sports mode issue has been fixed.

any word on if the bluetooth issues also fixed? so far i've heard the sports mode FC is corrected as is the low quality video, everything else has been on a case by case basis

Recently the only thing I've noticed (so far) is still having the my location via cell net issues.

What's your compass issue? I have stock unrooted Froyo and no compass problem after the upside down recalibrate technique.

My problem is actually getting the OTA stuck on DI18 for life...

i cant manually install it. im on stock EB13

My battery gets really warm now when I charge it. When are the custom roms coming out?

-Phone seems to be a bit faster with better battery life.
-Gallery now syncs with my Picasa album
-home screen and app bucket customizing
-new messaging looks like a keeper
-apps move to SD card

-The default internet browser doesn't seem to have a bookmark section anymore.
-Default music player changed a bit. Don't like the new list view of albums for each artist. Also looks like some of my music disappeared.

Everything else seems to be working just as it was before. Very happy with the upgrade at the moment.

I believe they moved the bookmarks to the top of the screen.

Define problems. Since Eb13 I swear my transfer rate is slower. 7 minutes for 1.9gb

Yeah bookmarks at top right of screen.

Just manually updated tonight, so far so good. As others said camera issues are resolved. Everything else seems good, hopefully I will some improvements with my battery too.

Like takes awhile for the transferring to start and randomly stops various times along with slow to turtle speeds.

My gps is hosed! None of the posted gps hacks via dialer codes or creating a short cut to lbstest work (i don't even see lbstest as a service/app to link to). I thought I'd reach out before trying to revert back....

I had this same concern, and still do. When I first got in my car after the update, I still had the Bluetooth issues. I unpaired them on the phone and deleted the device from the vehicle's SYNC. I then repaired them. On the two calls that I made since then I had no problems, but we'll see if it stays that way through the weekend.

Coming from EB13... I've only flashed the EC03 modem (running SyndicateROM 1.0.2) and I haven't noticed much of a battery/signal difference, but one thing was FINALLY fixed for me--my WiFi "Turning on Wifi..."/"Error" issue.

On any EB13 ROM, after a while, trying to switch on WiFi would result in the WiFi settings page to display "Turning on WiFi..." for several minutes before showing "Error." I would usually have to toggle Airplane mode to get it to turn on again, but sometimes, when that didn't work, I would have to reboot the phone.

On EC03, I can toggle WiFi on and off as many times as I want without a hitch.

FINALLY got it here in NY, NY at 2am on 3/25/11 after waiting since I got Epic on "day 1". My bug is that my "Google acct" doesnt recognize my password so I cant get to Gmail, Andr. Market, etc cause box keeps popping up asking to verify my Google acct & password! Weird! Any advice?
