MMS while on call clarification...
Hey all,
Ok, I have a Samsung Epic 4g. The other day, while on a call, and on my Home WiFi network, I was talking with someone on an ATT iPhone 3Gs. We were bother actively sending and receiving MMS picture messages to each other while talking. I was glad that this worked, and perhaps took it for granted. The iPhone user was not on a wifi network.
I found that this doesn't work, however, when I am not on my wifi network. Is this a limitation with sprint/this phone? Apparently, the GSM technology of the iphone let the other guy send and receive without being on a wifi network....
Am I getting this correct? Or is it possible for us Sprint users on the regular 'data' network to talk and send/receive mms messages? I have seen arguments both ways, and clarification would be helpful....
Thanks in advance,

It's a well known limitation of Sprint's network. As of now, we are unable to simultaneously use data and voice unless we are near a wifi hotspot that can handle the data transmission for us while on call. Sucks doesn't it? :P
I do believe (and I haven't tested this out) that if you're on 4G, this limitation doesn't apply. - 04-26-2011, 10:23 AM #3

to clarify just a bit further. its not just a "sprint" limitation but a cdma one. folks on vzw have the same problem. it is correct that if you have 4g turned on and have a signal you can utilize data and voice at the same time.

+ one on the 3g limitation. You can do this if your connected to your home network or a WiFi hotspot and using the phone, otherwise you have to running 4g to multi-task (browser the net/talk on phone, etc.)
