Sprint Visual Voicemail on G-Nex

my question was does Sprint include an app or is it in Market or just not available yet?

any way to change the Voicemail alert from the "Default" alert sound? i want to pick my own sound file. and please dont tell me to use GV. thanks.

p.s. we really need an official Sprint VVM App in Market.

Personally I love using Google Voice with the full integration. Yeah, the text message app isn't the greatest, but I can send and receive texts so what more do I need. Plus using GV also allows me to check and respond to my texts and voicemails on both my cell, my wi-fi only tablet, and my computer.

I recently ported my out of state number that i've had for ever to google voice, and got myself a local number to where i am now on the phone itself.

Best of both worlds. I can still be reached via my old number which forwards to my new local number.

Sent out a mass text regarding the number change, so eventually i won't be getting any calls from the old number, just banks, telemarketing (which can now be easily blocked per number as well).

The feature set Google voice offers is simply ridiculous, and its free.

A customizable voice mail greeting per caller? excellent. Mom gets her own greeting, Dad gets her own greeting, each friend can have their own greeting, Vulgar Greetings you don't have to worry about Grandma reaching...
Blocking capabilities of certain inbound numbers "the number your trying to reach has been disconnected" Priceless.

Now i have a power house, Google Drive, Google Music, Gmail, etc.

No more multiple platforms, multiple logins.

All is consolidated.

Ah-Men to Google, providing these free services, and sending me personalized ads based on my personal data collected.

Couldn't get any better, but Google will assure that it does.

OK i broke down and did the Sprint and Google Voice Integration. not as painful as i thought. i kept my Sprint number and now my Sprint number is also my GV number. initial set up was a little tricky to get things exactly right - it involved both desktop and phone settings - but once everything was set up correctly it seems to run pretty sweet!

I'm using YouMail Pro (free in the market) for my visual voicemail on the Nexus, so far it works great, no complaints, easy set-up.

my problem is now i get DUPLICATE text messages. i get them in the stock app and i get them on GV. i checked/unchecked all of the appropriate settings both online and on the device (stock app and GV app) and yet i can't hit the right recipe. and my settings online seem to change after a while even though i dont change them.

i want to use the stock text app for texts.

i want to use GV for Voicemails.

i don't want duplicate texts in both apps.

can anybody help? is yours working correctly? what are your settings?

just when i think i have it i don't.

If you integrated and want to use only the stock messaging app, there's no way to keep the messages from Google voice. You can however Un integrate, but use GV for your voice mail only.

If i understand your want to keep integration so To get rid of the GV text notifications.

On the Google voice web interface check the box that says receive texts on phone.

On the phone app go into setting > notifications, and check the option for "receive messages via messaging app".

Make sure the option below "show notification when message is received" is unchecked our greyed out.

You'll still get the received messages in GV and your text app, but you won't get the GV text notifications, only voice mail.

thanks for the reply - it got me thinking. what i really want is just the GV Voicemail - that's all - so that means i want "Google Voice Lite". so i UN-integrated my Sprint and GV numbers and they are now separate again. then i followed the instructions at this link and set up GV as my Voicemail and that's it -

the Integration was just causing too many conflicts and problems. GV was hijacking my texts, duplicating them.

thanks again.
