well I got the gnex and my friend has the gs2 we compared avatar in HD playing at the same time and there both nice screens but I did notice that the colors on the s2 are more cartoonish like while the colors on the gnex resemble your high def tv I guess it just comes down to preference but if u want to be future proof well the gnex would be your choice since most phone company's will probably start rolling out high def screens for marketing reasons and one other important factor the wimax radio is completely useless now since every phone carrier realized lte technology is superior than others

All of those points are extremely subjective. The display might be the most important thing to you but not necessarily to everybody else. I had the Evo 3D, and then sold it and got a Nexus S 4G and I personally prefer the Amoled rather than the QHD, so once again very subjective. The GS2 is super amoled plus with no pentile and I love that display! I'm more than satisfied with it. I like touchwiz as it is super easy to use, less of a hog than Sense, and it is very simple and minimalistic. Also the camera on the GS2 is the best camera I've ever had on a phone, and that's a huge plus. "There will always be something newer" why doesn't that apply to the Nexus? A phone is a phone is a phone, something newer/better WILL always be around and the Nexus has to be held to that standard as well. I've seen plenty of instance where the Nexus lags especially with live wallpapers, the Exynos on the GS2 really is a thing of beauty haven't had lag once! The Evo 3D and the NS4G lagged all the time, to ME that is very important.

I'm not knocking the Galaxy Nexus tho, it is a super legit phone and it'd make a great addition to Sprint's lineup especially since it will have LTE and Wallet and who knows what other exclusives. All I was saying that if this thing comes out later rather than sooner, I truly believe the optimal decision would be to wait on GS3 since it is likely to have everything the Nexus has and then some including a better camera. Let's not get it twisted, Galaxy S devices are Samsung's flagships NOT the Nexuses.

While you make some good points, this is a thread for those of us interested in the Nexus. If we were interested in the GS3 we'd be in a GS3 thread.

Anyway, coming from an Epic, which is a GS1 and messing with multiple ROMs because of the inadequacies of the Samsung software, I'd rather go Nexus since I personally consider that to be a superior experience and it allows me to send a message with my wallet: there are customers willing to pay for crapware-free device.

I am going to guess a few weeks before the LTE dates go live but will not be heavily advertised until they go live.

After owning the Nexus S 4G I will get this phone even if the Galaxy S3 is released soon after. It has been such a pleasure using a phone that isn't locked down, isn't skinned and you don't have to hope there will be good development for it.

They should sell it if only the customer personally asks for it in the store. Just in case, the employee should warn the buyer that there won't be LTE until later on till the year if there was ever a situation a clueless customer would get the Nexus.

Was there a big stink when the Evo was released and there were so few WiMax markets? Heck, there's only like 3 WiMax spots in Puerto Rico and all of my Sprint buddies and I own a 4G phone (except for my wife's iPhone).

Sprint is not showing all of their cards right now. we don't know exactly what's ready and what's not when it comes to their LTE network in each city - and they are not going to tell us right now. i believe they are under-promising and will over-deliver. they are managing expectations so they do not disappoint investors or customers. and they do not want to show their cards to competitors.

Well, I talked to a Sprint guy at the mall today, and he said that the Galaxy Nexus would be released in February. I don't know how well-informed he is, but that sounds a lot more promising than a second quarter release.

As to those who want to wait for Sprint to roll out 4G LTE coverage in their area before they get the phone, I disagree. I say, why wait for that when you can get the phone and just use 3G until they release LTE in your area? From what I hear, it's a really good phone, and it's part of Google's larger effort to reduce the fragmentation that has plagued Android for so long. And being a Nexus, it'll probably be the first existing phone to get the "J-dessert" version of Android.

I wouldn't bank on that. I'm still waiting for my Nexus S 4g ICS update.

I'm unaware of any phone on Sprint that has gotten an ICS update, so the Nexus S may still be the first to get ICS.

Actually I heard the same thing. I had been in Best Buy to get a wireless card but stopped by to look at the phones. When the reps started to try and sell me a phone I said I was waiting on the Galaxy Nexus from Sprint since I didn't like Verizon and both the reps present said they had heard sometime in February for the release date.

Personally I would love this as this would give me a couple of weeks to check reviews for the Sprint version before I was able to get my upgrade instead of sitting for a couple of weeks after I'm capable of getting an upgrade.

i was in a Sprint Corporate Store today and asked one of the more knowledgeable guys and he thinks "next month" ie February but he was just guessing based on the fact that they are already advertising the phone etc. he said many customers are asking about it.

    Happy Birthday (early).

I will be glad when it is released but as my upgrade is not until 09/01/12, I will have to wait to get mine.
Oh well. Better late(r) than never.

The guy at my Sprint Corporate Store told me March was what he was told. This would work for me since my upgrade is April 1st. I really think it will be early this year rather than June or July.

i think the people at the Sprint stores don't know much.

the long delays are really annoying. people want the phone. it's been a long time since the EVO. just release the f******* thing already.

What do people think are the chances of Sprint having a advertisement/release date for the Nexus during the super bowl?

If they're releasing in February, good. If they're waiting till March or later, bad.
