Nope, I'm waiting to upgrade my GNex to the Nexus 4 since SGS3 runs TW & One X runs Sense. For me it's as simple as that.
I had heard SGS3 might run stock but alas nope, so they made my decision for me. Oh well. - 04-21-2012, 01:10 PM #3

Re: Anyone return the nuxus and waiting on the evo lte
i'm tired of fighting skins, bloat, and slow updates. hence - it's G-Nex for me.
BTW - has anyone seen the new Facebook App update? the app can't be deleted and it installs a second "Camera" icon and a "Messenger" App icon in addition to the FB icon whether you like it or not. and it is HUGE. - 04-21-2012, 02:16 PM #6

Good thing I don't use Facebook then. Sounds like unnecessary bloat for using it...

Re: Anyone return the nuxus and waiting on the evo lte
i don't use FB either but the problem is that the FB App is on the stock EVO ROM and can't be deleted. so you are constantly nagged to update the app and can't delete the app. add to that Blockbuster, NASCAR, Sprint Football, Nova, Qik, Amazon Kindle, Amazon MP3, Sprint TV, Sprint Zone, and all of the other HTC and Sprint undeletable garbage bloatware. they are clutter resource memory hog nuisances that i don't want. i'm tired of it and i'm not going to take it anymore. i'm voting with my wallet.

Not me. Love ics and I tried out a one x on display at the at&t store. Didn't find it mind blowing enough. Also not having a user replaceable battery does suck.

Re: Anyone return the nuxus and waiting on the evo lte
I am happy that most of you like it. I do like ICS in a pure form. For me it seems like the earphone speaker was very distorted and call quality is #1 for me. The only other thing that bothered me was how light it was. I'm not saying that it is a cheap phone, but it felt that way to me. I love my Evo 4G and I did hate all of the bloatware, but after a root and rom it has been amazing even with Sense.

Wife and in upgraded to Gnex's from original EVO 4G. Mine was dying and on its last leg. We liked some Sense features, but the Gnex and pure ICS is really nice.

Just got rid of my nexus s 4g for a evo 3d, while for the longest I thought the pure Google experience was the beginning and end all, Samsung and their phones just wore it down.
While Ics is awesome it will be coming to most phones anyways, the build quality of Samsung irritates me.
And the gps issues are rather pathetic.
My evo 3d is amazing, while it is on gingerbread the device feels like quality, it's gps is spot on and flawless and signal is great unlike my nexus 4G, my cousin also had signal issues with his gnex on verizon and forever now I've always heard how it "will be fixed", sorry to say but it won't, after a few small software updates and bug fixes, and many radio updates it did get better but it never was truly fixed because it is a Samsung hardware problem.
As much as I love the gnex I will not be getting it, ill wait for the new evo with a larger screen, working gps and no signal issues.
Basically when I had my nexus I just swept the issue under the rug, now that I'm back on a htc device im wondering why I ever left in the first place.

Re: Anyone return the Galaxy Nexus and waiting on the EVO 4G LTE?
I hope you realize that every phone isn't built and/or designed the same way. That said, the Galaxy nexus is leaps and bounds ahead of the NS4G. I for one had ALL of Sprint high end phones and I currently have the Galaxy Nexus. In my opinion its the best Android phone I've used and owned. The issues that the NS4G suffered from far as GPS issues, radio issues is not here in the Galaxy nexus or at least i haven't experienced them. My Gps locks quickly and stays locked for the duration of it's use. As far as radio/reception, I get service with the GN that I never got with my NS4G.
Don't get me wrong, there are some Galaxy nexus phones that may experience issues or whatnot, but what electronic device doesn't. If you or anyone else think that ANY phone that is on the horizon, that being the HTC Evo Lte, SGS3, iPhone 5 etc, is not gonna have some type of issue, you're dreaming.
As far as the HTC Evo 3D, according to the Sprint Techs I spoke to...it is the worst android phone that sprint carries. People have been reporting a lot issues with it and returning them. In addition, I for one will not be getting the HTC Evo Lte. the reason being is it's design. All their phones look just alike. Heck, the Galaxy S 2 commercial, when the Apple customer says, "It looks the same as the previous model, How would anyone know I upgraded," should not only reflect on the iPhone but HTC products as well, because they all look similar. At least Samsung devices put a little twist to the design of their products.
All in all, everybody gets what they want or what they feel comfortable with. I for one like my Galaxy Nexus and I just can't see myself parting ways with it. - 04-23-2012, 01:22 PM #23
That good to hear they fixed most of the issues.
My cousin had a launch verizon gnex and had the signal issues.
Who knows I may end up with the gnex but that's what the 14 day return windows are for.
Personally I think the evo lte is a better device, only time will tell.

I'm returning mine in the morning. I wasn't impressed at all and the battery life isnt anything to write home about. I didnt feel like pure ICS was all it was hyped up to be either. I went back to the iPhone 4s til the EVO comes out. I still love and miss the way colors pop on the AMOLED screen though.
I feel like my ET4G was better. Especially battery wise but also with games, they seemed smoother.Last edited by tinybfk; 04-25-2012 at 08:28 AM.
