    Default Trouble with Google Voice

I just upgraded from an Evo4G, and I used GV on that phone too. I went through the setup on my GNex, confirmed in the settings I wanted to get my text messages through GV, but they are still coming through the regular messaging app. Anyone know why this might be happening? Thanks.

What kind of messages are they? Try clearing defaults in settings > applications > manage apps > GV and select a contact and tap the text messging icon in the contact... Set GV as Default..

If it still doesn't work, reinstall and resetup GV

I was talking about regular text messaging, I like using GV over the stock messaging app. Un-installed and reinstalled it and it is working fine now, thanks for the suggestion.

lucky you have an easy fix.

I had to downgrade my 3VO to a Hero which doesn't support GV. Sprint tech support disabled the GV service when they did the switch.

Then when i bought the Nexus today, i can't re-enable carrier integration, and 3 sprint techs including tier 2 cant enable the service again... I'm unbelievably pissed off. With no way to fix it...

Wow, that is crap. Hopefully Google is able to help in some way? But yeah, the GNex is such a great phone, enjoy it!

Thanks guys! I do love the phone, but one of the reasons I stick with sprint is for the integration. No other carrier has it, and I use it constantly, *used to use it constantly.

I could use it in classified areas for work, where phones with camera's are not allowed, to check text messages and listen to voicemails via pc. Now all i have are voicemails...
