NFC slow compared to Nexus S

THought I would ask and see if anyone else saw the difference in speed in NFC transactions . I wen to the market last night and I have used my Nexus S before at checkout and it went smooth almost instant when paying with NFC. Last night with me new GNex I stood there for about 30 seconds moving my phone up and down the little pad thinking that my case was blocking the signal. I removed my case fast cause line was behind me and then I got the "Sending" with the radio signals. ANyone else have this issue?

Nope its actually been faster on gnex then my ns4g I even used it thru a otter box

I noticed that you have to actually lay the device on the cc machine with the nexus. When I had a nexus s I just had to hold it above without touching it.
