Okay I bought a used Gnex on cl that was rooted with a unlocked bootloader. It is on stock rom and the guy said he wiped it before I got my hands on it. I was texting with him before I bought it so I know the phone used to send and receive texts but now it will not. I tried deleting the mms.apk with system app remover than installing one I found on the net but it will not install.I have also tried 3rd party message apps and they do not work either. phone is on 4.0.4. is my only option to return the phone to stock using odin and starting from scratch? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated and l;et me know if you need any more details. if anyone has a clean mms.apk and a easy way to get it to install that may work. or a link to everything I need to do Odin(cant get it from xda cause the website is blocked at my work) thanks again

If you can, wait until you get home from work. Odin is really easy to use and should only take about ten - fifteen minutes to unroot and root again.

a little more info. I can send and recieve picture messages but not regular texts. I am thinking it is a setting that got screwey when the guy reset the phone. If i remember correctly with my evo I could get into some advanced settings by hitting some numbers and pound on the dialpad
