Re: The Jelly Bean OTA update has started. Post yours here.
I tried doing the force stop, and clear data trick several times. Even removed my battery. didn't to work. However, thank you for the link. I will try this. One question for you, I am a completely blind user using talk back on the android phones, can I use fast boot in order to flash this zip file? I ask, because none of the recoveries that I have found have an opportunity to have speech on them. Therefore, I cannot do any sort of flashing without either using fast boot, because I can do that in the terminal, on the Mac, or sighted assistance.

This update is awesome. I am loving JB. Project butter indeed. So smooth. there was hesitation in the beginning, I guess it had to spool up or something, but ever since then NOT A SINGLE STUTTER. Google now is so much fun to play around with, i've never been more satisfied with a cell phone than this keep up the good work Google!

The link on page 4 worked like a charm. Now at job and running well. Anyone in an LTE area get LTE to work with the update. Also for those of you who got the update pushed out to you automatically, what version number is reported. My over number does not match what sprints website said it should be.

Re: The Jelly Bean OTA update has started. Post yours here.
So, apparently using fast boot does not work from my Mac on the update. I answered my own question.
administrators-MacBook:nexus michael$ ./fastboot-mac update updatetoro.zip
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
administrators-MacBook:nexus michael$
has someone created a tar to use with Odin, or does anyone know if this can be done? This is the second way that I could update my phone.
Or, is there a way to find a copy of the update log so I can figure out what is going on? I cleared out data, stopped the app, for Google framework services, and downloaded the update when it finally went through, (seven times later). The phone advised me that it was going to restart, and install the application. However, when it restarted I still had android version 4. Zero. Four. Any ideas? - 09-08-2012, 01:09 PM #244
Re: The Jelly Bean OTA update has started. Post yours here.
Could be possible that you weren't updated to the most currrent ICS.. Now see if you can get the OTA update to trigger again.
The Odin package in this thread works, but you need a Windows machine to run it... I just used the FH05 - Jelly Bean Odin tar's and it works.

Re: The Jelly Bean OTA update has started. Post yours here.
I have no problem with using windows, i have one in my office that I use all the time. What file would I use to install from Odin? I did the update again to no avail, therefore I think I will try the update using odin... Jellybean has a lot of accessibility improvements from ICS, but I would like to take advantage of. When my fiancé was here (who can see you), I had installed a preview release of jellybean wrong, using clockwork mod, but, unfortunately had to format my phone. I would really like to get back on JB.

Re: The Jelly Bean OTA update has started. Post yours here.
Use the link above I sent use and grab the first on the list...
FH05 Stock Tar
FH05 LTE tar (needed for the updated LTE radio)
Follow the instructions. Flash the FH05 stock tar first, let it reboot and boot up. Then shut down and go back into Odin/Download mode and flash the LTE tar (PDA slot in Odin) and that will flash the LTE radio.
Remember, Odin wipes the entire device so anything you have like pics, etc... Get them off there first.

Glad it is working for everyone.
I am going to return to stock later and get some yummy and sweet official Jelly Bean for myself.
Keep posting up to let us know how it is going.

I manually installed Ice Cream Sandwich on my old Nexus S 4G by using the instructions here: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-ma...cream-sandwich
Is there any reason to think that following those same instructions to install the Jelly Bean file that was just posted on this thread wouldn't work? It just seems like those steps were easier. - 09-08-2012, 04:12 PM #250
Re: The Jelly Bean OTA update has started. Post yours here.
I'm new to this, but I have a question. I recently changed from the Nexus to the S3 with Sprint, but I still have my Nexus that I will go back to the minute it gets JB. Will it still get the update even if it isn't active on any mobile network? I did sign in to my Google account, and I have the WiFi active. Thanks for the help.
