Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.
Not whining here, just wondering why nobody has posted that they have the update. Not a single confirmation that the update actually exists. Every time the subject gets brought up anywhere people point to the Sprint page saying the update is coming. We knew that back when we bought the phones.
An actual confirmed siting of the OTA update from someone would simply be nice at this late point in the day. - 09-06-2012, 08:18 PM #28

Patience. I don't think everyone who owns a Sprint GNexus comes to Android Central just to post about it... Just saying.
Speaking from experience with my E4GT, sometimes it is better NOT to jump the gun and wait for it to come to you.
They pulled the ICS update after I got the update.zip, and the ICS build borked my phone.
I thank Sprint for this though, it gave me a case to get a GNexus.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.
Most people don't look at the entire contract, they just see "Ooh! I can get a free phone!" and don't even think about the bills (maybe because they are on a family plan and it's cheap or someone is paying for them).
They may be flagship phones, but I guarantee you most don't even know that. They only know what the sales rep pushes on them or what they see on TV. Nexus devices don't really sell that well (as Samsung confirmed during their first bout with Apple) outside of places like this so there's no point in really pushing it to any customers or telling them anything about it when you can push a Galaxy S3 or One X and get more commission. - 09-06-2012, 11:02 PM #33

Sprint directed me to Samsung to see what the deal is. They are saying to wait it out and that it's coming. I remember when I had the Epic i could just go download it from the Samsung webpage as it came out.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.
OMG! I GOT THE UPDATE!
I GOT THE UPDATE!
I'm so, so, so sorry. That was mean wasn't it. 100+ people refreshing this page to see if ONE person has gotten the update... I just couldn't resist.
Please don't hurt me! lol
I have a Verizon GNex with a very good JB Rom. I don't think I'll ever wait for a carrier update again. - 09-07-2012, 09:29 AM #47

If the update was from Google we would have had it the same time as the GSM model. Sprint and or Samsung is dragging there feet.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.
More accurately I would say COULD have gotten it instead of WOULD. Google does not update carriers phones without their ok.
I strongly suspect the reason Sprint did not give the ok earlier is they feared releasing Jelly bean when the GSM version of it came out would impact GS3 sales.
How many people would run out to buy a GS3 running ice cream sandwich when they just got Jelly Bean on their Galaxy Nexus? or could buuy a GN and have Jelly Bean right now.Last edited by Danf; 09-07-2012 at 10:27 AM.
