Default Flashed just the new 4.2 ( GA02) radios

    Just like the title says...

Rooted running AOKP Milestone 1 with the new radios to see if there is any real improvement.

To early to tell. Tomorrow when I'm running around I will get a better idea.

As of right now it hasn't improved reception at home. Basically same as the older radios as of now

Could be that I need to upgrade to 4.2 to take full advantage of the new radios. I'm sure there is software tweaks in the OS to optimize the radio's

I won't upgrade until the new line of ROMS are built off the new update.

I think there was one Paul. I upgraded mine with ODIN and did factory reset as well. and I have no lag and they really tweak out alot of issues like sounds, radios, gps, It is a very good firmware version in my opinion.

Sounds encouraging. However I can't live without many of the normal goods that custom ROMs provide so I'll have to wait. Shouldn't be long now that this is confirmed to be the official update. If Sprint and Google could ever get around to working out their issues to place the Sprint GNex in official AOSP source for building I would work on building stuff in myself but seeing how that isn't going to happen before pigs fly I'll let the pro's handle the custom ROMs.

I would be interested in better radio reception (especially LTE) and GPS is also a plus

Out of curiosity, what "goods" in particular are you referring to?
I'm looking for a reason to root so just wondering the specific benefits you're referring to, thanks.

For one custom roms open up ur screen space a lot there's batter tweaks kernels there's so much in a custom rom you really have to try them for yourself to really see what they're all about

Biggest one for me, is the ability to t9 dial a name, instead of having to look for someones number. There are replacement dialer pads, but I prefer the feel of the "stock" one, but with that little added benefit. Not sure why it has not been implemented in stock, when my old phones from 10+yrs ago, had this feature...
Sprint Galaxy Nexus [stock for now]
    BB 8130, iPhone 4 8g, iPhone 3g 16gb, Toshiba e800, Palm Tungsten T
[retired]Epic 4g, BB8330, BB 9670, Samsung Intercept, Katana DLX, Sanyo 8400, HTC Wizard, MPX220, and many others...
