I tried the Google framework trick. It did not work on my Note 2. (Worked for my wife's galaxy s3 last week though!)

If I were You guys I would just wait until the update appeared on the phone. Give yourself a peace of mind. It isn't worth driving yourself crazy over something that you know will happen in the next 5 days. I did this with the Galaxy Nexus and it proved to be an unhealthy obsession.
