    Default Signal Quality

I am wanting to upgrade from my Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Tough and was looking at the Galaxy Note 2. One question that I have is about the Samsung radios. Are they improved at all in Note 2? Or, can I expect the same poor reception?

    Thanks

The radios are excellent! It picks up signals like a laptop. I have not had any problems. Where my gnex was weak the note signal is strong.

That is one thing that I noticed and loved about the phone. I have a signal downstairs in my house. With my S3 I didnt so I had to use the google voice app to send texts from downstairs.

I also came from the E4GT, and the Note 2 radios blow it away. Significantly improved voice reception and 3g speeds and signal.

Oh yeah - the GPS? Works.

I had a Google nexus 4g and this phone is so much better so far in the reception area. I use to get poor reception when driving out of my culdesac and now I have full bars. Even when driving around my city I use to get 2 or 3 bars and now they are full. I was a little leery like you of getting another Samsung because of the radio but I am sure glad that I took a chance. This phone is amazing.

I got a Verizon Mifi to compensate for what I expected to be poor data speeds. But 3g on the Note 2 is so much better and faster than it was on my EG4T that I almost never use it. I usually don't even take it with me.

This is true for me as well. I now get 4g inside my building whereas my gnex none. Wifi dropped in and out in my bedroom and with the note I get at least 2-3 bars

Same for me as stated. All radios are better. My wife gets no bars of wifi outside and downloads are slow for her on her S3 meanwhile I'm sitting further away and I'll get 1 bar of wifi signal and speeds for me are good. No LTE her In NY yet but have yet to drop a call and get great battery life.

Thanks everyone. I picked up a Note 2 last Friday have been enjoying it.

It does seem to get a stronger signal that my GSII did, but unfortunately it is still a little week in my office. But, I think that is more Sprints fault than it is the Note 2. But, at least the batter life is much improved that I don't need to keep my phone plugged in all day just to maintain a charge!

You might try asking for a Airave for your office. My son works in a basement office and can get no signal whatsoever. He called Sprint and explained that his phone was his only way to communicate from his office and they sent him a free Airave with no monthly service. He says he gets full bars while he is working how. It would be worth a try.
