Want to get rid of "recent applications" switcher and go straight to "Active applications"..?

I don't really seem to be caring about the recent app list that comes up when I long-press the home button on my Note2. Instead I find that more often I am just going through it to get to the Active application list (by hitting the pie-chart icon on the recent apps list after long-pressing home). I can't find a setting to get rid of the recent app menu so that long-pressing home just goes straight to the active app list... Am I missing anything?

If you go to YouTube and search Samsung galaxy note 2 tips episode 18 it clearly shows there is suppose to be a widget for just that. Don't know why it's on that guys note 2 but no one else's that i can find. Have it on my galaxy tablet and it's a nice little widget.
