Was looking at both phones size wise and found this.

if you have held a nexus or played with one, and were comfortable with it, you will be more than comfortable with the SGS2 Touch.

Epic touch : 5.1" x 2.7" x 0.4" weight 4.5oz 9.59mm thick

Nexus S : 4.88 x 2.48 x 0.43 (123.9 x 63 x 10.88 mm) weight 4.55oz

Nexus S 4G : 4.88 x 2.48 x 0.44 (124 x 63 x 11 mm) weight 4.60 oz

wow, how cool that they are similar?

the nexus never feels weird in my hand like the evo4g did.]

That's crazy they are so close in size and weight, with the Galaxy S II has a much larger screen. I love the weight and feel in hand of my Nexus-S 4G, for sure getting the Sprint S II.

You were listing the Nexus-S, the Sprint Nexus-S 4G is slightly larger due to the WiMax chip;

4.88 x 2.48 x 0.44 (124 x 63 x 11 mm)

Weight:

4.60 oz (130 g)

I have Nexus S and is perfect size for my small hands... especially the width (2.5").
However, the width on SGS2 Touch is 2.74 (a good 0.24 inches).. when you are talking phones, 0.24" makes a lot of difference...
The other day I was in BB store and held Samsung Infuse in my hands (width: 2.8) and boy was it big.. it was really big in my hands...
Personally, I would negate the theory of S2 being close to Nexus S. It is not as I said few mm's make a lot of difference... although I have to agree that even at this size its very tempting.. I guess I have to hold it to really know the difference.

They are different shapes but technically the if you go by volume for size, the GS2 is a tad bit smaller than the Nexus S 4G.
Nexus S 4G - 4.88" x 2.48" x 0.44" = 5.325056" cubed
Epic 4G Touch - 5.1" x 2.7" x 0.38" = 5.2326" cubed

But that's not gonna mean anything if you feel it's too wide for you. *That's what she said. LOL

Lulz! Yeah I think the width is going to be the deciding factor for many people on this device, as I think it will have the biggest impact on the visual perception of the phone's size.

Yeouch! That thing is a monster. I guess it's a subjective evaluation as to what it means to be "close to" the size of the Nexus S, but based on that visual I completely disagree with the title of this thread.

I actually prefer a wider device than taller. Reason I returned my EVO-3D, ot was too tall and narrow, I couldn't stand that, I much preferred the fatter/wider EVO 4G. Well now I have the Nexus-S 4G and LOVE it, but 99% will be getting the new Sprint Galaxy S2.

Oooh I like that comparison site. Really gives a good visual of the size differences. Here is the most fair Galaxy SII comparison, which essentially compares the AT&T and Sprint variants. The difference is noticeable but more subtle.

Samsung Infuse 4G vs Samsung Galaxy S II - Phone Comparison - The Phone Database

Keep in mind though folks that nothing compares to your own eyes, in person, holding the device. I'd keep that in mind before you get your boxers or panties in a bunch. It could affect your pre-order decision though.

The infuse is just a tad bigger though.

Epic 4g Touch:
5.10 x 2.70 x 0.38 (130 x 69 x 10 mm)

Samsung Infuse
5.20 x 2.80 x 0.35 (132 x 71 x 9 mm)

Depends on your definition of bigger. Infuse is wider and taller yes but the volume is just slightly (barely) smaller than the Epic 4g Touch. Either way it's as comparable as it gets.

I wonder if the Nexus Prime will have a smaller footprint since the Prime reportedly won't have capacitive buttons and that space can be now used for screen real estate.
