Proper way to Activate

I'm pretty new at switching phones and I want to make sure I activate everything properly'

I am giving my EVO 4G to my wife and I am going to use the new Epic. She currently has a Pre.

Palm Pre De-activate
EVO 4g will change from my current number to the wife's current Pre number
Epic Touch will get my current number.

What order should I do this in?

Activate the epic touch. Then the Evo for you wife. Then you're left with a pre paper weight
