Battery usage went from almost 2 days to less than 1?

Hey All, since I got the phone I've been having amazing battery life with my phone, getting 16+ hours before needing a charge, until today.

Night before last I forgot to charge it after listening to music while cleaning, and the next day it was almost dead at work. Popped it on the charger for a little while, got about 75% and took it off for the rest of the day. Last night I let it charge while off.

Today though, I've only gotten around 9 hours of battery life. I've included a screen shot of my usage for today.

Would charging it last night while off have screwed up my battery settings? I'll probably let it die tonight and re-charge off again to see if I can reset it, but it just seems odd.

You phone signal is never green. If you are around wifi, turn it on and battery life should be much better

I have been having the same issue since Saturday. Since I got the phone it has lasted all day, since Saturday it's only given me 8 to 9 hours under the same usage. Today I plugged it into the computer since it was at 19%, and 30 minutes later it's at 17%. I have also noticed that it's usually warm to the touch, never happened prior to Sat. It losses 10 to 15 percent battery life every hour even when it's on wifi, and is not used. Is there an app that measures CPU cycles being used by individual applications, since something is running wild, and killing my battery.

Had the same battery drain problem after an update for my Evo 4G. Used System Panel and Watchdog. These apps let you see what app is using most of the CPU, etc. Both apps are in Market. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when battery life is good and then starts to drain for no reason. Hope the apps help.

Can it have significant impact on battery life? Where I live, I barely ever get green signal.

Unfortunately there is no wifi that I can use at work. Normally I have 2 or 3 bars at my desk, but yesterday it was going from 0 to 4 very sporadically, mostly staying around 0 or 1 bar. When I got home last night it had about 15% battery, and I drained it until it told me it was critically low, and charged it off from there, but unfortunately it's been off the charger for about an hour now and it's going down fast (signal shows some green, but still mostly yellow)

I've noticed at work i'm constantly roaming and not roaming and i've notice battery drains quicker than a steady signal at home. Are you having roaming issues?

Shut down and pull the battery for 30 seconds. Start it up and see if your problem goes away. May not work, but anytime I have a phone that is acting strange I try this first and it usually will take care of it. I'm assuming that you haven't installed any new apps recently that you didn't have while getting 16+ hrs.

No new apps, just some updates. I'll test the full charge while off today, and if it didn't help, I'll do the battery pull tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion

When I switched my roaming preference back to Sprint only my battery life went back to being great.

yea i see the same thing. i can charge it over night, get 100%, then only use it to check mail, do some txting, and what not and in 2 hrs im at 80%. no apps running in the back ground ram cleared wifi on. its weird. i can go 1.5 days sometimes on a charge and the next day i have to charge it by 5pm with light/moderate use.

Here is what I have done. I when to setting, Accounts and Sync, and i unchecked Background data. I have to manually pull my emails, but the battery last all day. When I activate this, the battery usage drains really quickly. I am using watchdog lite, os monitor, and system panel lite to watch all of the processes, and keep getting alerts on events/0, and suspend when the phone should be going to sleep. that is why the phone uses more battery when the screen is off than when its on. Go figure. this might not work for everyone, but I hate having to charge my phone in the middle of the day.

All you need to do is add,juice-defender cause it seems you have a weak signal and with jd when in stand by it turns off the radios in your phone,hence saving u battery life by not trying to constantly searching for a signal!
