I noticed lately that the phone rings through the external speaker and not through headphones when I have them plugged in. I thought it did ring through them previously and maybe stopped after I installed an app. Does anyone else have this issue or is this normal?

I'm asking bc i take the train and don't want text messages / email ringtones to play loudly and disturb other people, but I tend to miss them when the phone is on vibrate in my pocket

This is one of the things that frustrates me most with this phone. Maybe that's a good thing that I don't have bigger things to complain about, but I can't understand the logic behind making this a stock setting. As far as I can tell, there is no way to change it. Hopefully somebody else comes on here and offers a solution. Also, I believe the sound comes through both the headphones and speaker when the headphones are plugged in.

Agree.. my music plays in the headphones but all my alerts play externally.

I fixed it using Tasker! Lemme know if it works on your phones.
