Considering upgrading from EVO 4G to GS2-Market Questions
I'm considering upgrading from my HTC EVO 4G (which I love, but wish it had better battery life) to the GS2. I've added Beautiful Widgets, Launcher Pro, & WidgetLocker, all of which I purchased. Can I somehow transfer these purchased apps to the GS2 if I reset the EVO to stock?
I have another question too. I was comparing my EVO to the GS2 today in the Sprint store and loaded the same YouTube vids at the same time. The GS2 loaded & started playing the video much faster. Is this due to the faster processor? - 01-08-2012, 03:37 PM #2
Re: Considering upgrading from EVO 4G to GS2-Market Questions
Yes the GS2 is faster as it has a dual core processor. You can still have your purchased applications to your new GS2 phone as long as you're using the same Google account. I just added one of my paid applications to my new GS2 phone. I emailed the application website to ask for instructions on how to transfer it to my new phone. The website told me as long as I was using the same Google account from which I purchased the application from.

when you log into Google account, and go into market under "my apps" at the bottom it shows uninstalled apps. Just click on it and it will give you the choice to install.

Re: Considering upgrading from EVO 4G to GS2-Market Questions
I just made this exact upgrade 2 weeks ago. I can't believe how much faster the S2 is. The battery life is also awesome. I got the Body Glove case with kickstand because that was the only feature of the EVO that I missed. I would definitely recommend this upgrade you won't be sorry.

Great to hear mhaner. Is there anything else you miss on the EVO?
I know the GS2 hasn't been out as long, but does it seem to be pretty reliable? I'm also a little concerned that Samsung doesn't seem to do as many OTA updates as HTC does, like upgrading it to the next version of Android? - 01-08-2012, 06:30 PM
