Post-ICS: computer thinks phone is a camera & wi fi disconnect

I bought my Epic 4G less than a month ago and got ICS update a few days ago. Now, my phone periodically forgets that it is connected to wi fi, even if I've never left the house, so i have to disconnect and reconnect to remind it. Also, when I connect it via USB to my computer, my computer thinks it's a camera even if my phone indicates it is connected as a media device. Help!

Two issues:

1) I don't know about the wifi thing.

2) Under ICS your phone looks like a MTP media device (for music) or a PTP camera (for pictures) to your computer instead of a regular old USB thumb drive. There are some good technical reasons for this and it's been covered pretty well in other posts but it does make things more of a pain for those of us who just want to deal directly with files.
