Not getting voice mail notifications after rooting

Since I took the plunge and rooted my S3 I'm not getting voice mail notifications now. I'm not using TouchWiz anymore, in it's place I'm using Mini Launcher. Does it have something to do with not running TouchWiz?

Welcome to the forums.
It shouldn't matter unless you flashed a different ROM. You can use Google Voice. That will notify you of any voicemails.

This may be a dumb question, but how do I set that up? I'm learning, so have patience with my dumb questions..........

There isn't a lot to set-up with google voice. But some of it will have to be done from a computer.

For me it was as simple as installing the app, and it checked if it could run on my service.
