Just got off the phone with sprint order status. Said Yes they are trying to get them shipped so they will be in our hands the day prior to the release date. Said release is Thurs the 21st it should ship on Monday the 18th. Then he said "if not sooner". Asked if possible they would start shipping after the "pre release party" on the 12th. He said he had no information on that.

I've always known Sprint to ship out pre-orders for people to end up having them in advance of any stated ship dates.

That's normal. The info won't start showing until the day of, or one day after, it's actually shipped.

do you guys have any guess as to when we will start to receive our phones? i really like seeing this statement on the pre-order "If you pre-ordered a Samsung Galaxy S3, we’ll do our best to get it to you before others get a glimpse on Thursday, June 21"

in addition i really hope a signature is not required at the time of delivery!

i just noticed they took the june 21st date out of that sentence; its now states "We know you are dying to get your hands on your new device. And when you pre-order one, we'll do our best to get it to you before others get a glimpse."

When we preordered our Evo 4G from Best Buy two years ago they did not release them until the release date specified.

Yesterday I ordered a Pebble Blue GS3 from Radio Shack and they would not promise any deliverly date. I also wanted a while one but RS did not have them available.

I called Sprint tonight and ordered a white one and they stated that it would be shipped so that I would receive it on the 21st. They have not provided a tracking number as of yet.

When I ordered my Galaxy Nexus, they shipped it Thursday...overnight shipping...and I had it that Friday...which was two days early.

People wasn't able to hit the stores for one till that Sunday.

So I'm sure, sprint will ship them out early...maybe Tuesday...or even Monday.

But I'm sure it'll be early.

Status: The order or a portion of the order is in backorder status. If the customer would like to select an alternate product or cancel the backordered item, transfer to Order Support.

I ordered the white 32G S3 on the 5 Jun (first day of preorders). Makes me wonder if they are going to slide the release date. Anybody actually get a tracking number yet?

That happened to the EVO 4G LTE right before it shipped (after the whole border fiasco). I think we'll be fine.

Strange as it sounds I have heard this means they are ready to ship and likely will go out tomorrow.

I just got my upgrade eligibility reset yesterday after returning my EvoLTE. Do you guys think that if I preordered the S3 today that I would still get it before Thursday?

At this point I'm kinda leaning towards just showing up at Sprint Thursday morning.
