Default Transfer from optimus to SIII

    Hi Everyone
As I am waiting to recieve my SIII, I was thinking how can I transfer all of my data from my LG Optimus V running IHO rom (Cyanogen 7) to the new SIII.
I know that contacts, calendar, email will all be synced via Google accounts but what about Texts, game progress, etc.

Is there a specific app that can help with this?

There are apps in the market that can back up your texts. As far as game progress, it depends on the game. There are back ups for Angry Birds, but I don't know about other games.

i went from the optimus s to evo4g, my optimus was rooted so i used " my backup pro " paid version to save my txt and i used titanium backup to save my app and game progress...i got the evo rooted it, restored txt from "my backup pro" & then restored my app+ user data from titanium backup..
DO NOT RESTORE ANY SYSTEM APP/DATA.....before i used any of my app i let the market update them all....
now since GSII is android 4.0 and my evo is 2.3.7 i dont know if it will work the same way to me it should but im not a dev..just an above average noob...thats what im goign to try to do to get all my games data, from my evo to my GSiii

So, does this mean that I would have to root GSIII before using My back up pro and Titanium Backup ?

you wont need root to restore your sms/mms with mybackup pro, but you will need root for titanium to restore your user app data
