    Default headphones

Does the S3 finally match the iPhone for controls on the headphones such as volume, advance track etc with out using some hacked software?

The headphones have Volume Up/Down and Pause/Play buttons, that's it. No advanced track that I'm aware of..

The headphones aren't all that bad either for being the ones that come with the phone. Obviously you can do better, but compared to others that come with phones, these are pretty good.

thanks for the info -- it just seems odd to me that only the iPhone can support native controls on the headphones. Yeah its a small thing but a big hangup for me and my wife.

I have some JVC headphones meant for an iPod. If I press and hold the button, I hear 2 beeps and it advances to the next track. I am using Poweramp, so I am not sure if this is a feature of the phone or Poweramp. I do know that on my ET4G this did not work.

One of the reasons went is because every i phone is identical. Same hardware same software.

Android is open and you find 20 different versions on 20 different phones. It makes it difficult for hardware manufacturers to make headphones that work on all phones when the software and hardware is different on every model phone.

I'm actually interested in these myself for when I go bike riding and to the gym. There was a review on the front page a little while ago that sounded pretty good. Here's the link.

All headphones I mention work has 3 button and. Mic all 3 buttons work and mic

    -Nokia purity hd and inear
-htc beats solo and htc urbeats
    - souls SL99s (inear)
    -nocs ns 200h (inear)

Also just so every one knows Nokia Lumia,Htc Samsung galaxy ,Sony all use Industry-standard headphone jack. So basically that means any headphones that works for one works for all.
The reason I know is because I tested in AT&T store. I own the Nokia purityhd and htc urbeats.

These are what I use they are amazing and Android can do anything you want, just download an app and you can make the headphone controls do what you want, or a ROM, http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Image-...idcentral00-20
