I noticed when headphones plugged in, some sounds still audible?
I noticed that when headphones are plugged in, certain system sounds are still played over the phone's speaker. It kind of defeats the point of plugging headphones in. Is there anyway to mute the sounds from coming out of the phone speaker when they are plugged in?

You have to either put the phone on mute or vibrate before you plug the headphones in. It is weird but it can probably be fixed with an update from Samsung.

Anyone know a way around this? I'd like all sounds to come through the headphones only, I don't understand why they play on the speaker

I'd love an answer to this as well. I have the Galaxy Nexus (sorry, I know, wrong forum) and I never noticed this until last week (I swear the 'issue' didn't exist for me until recently). Now it's really irritating me and I am dying to find a way to make ALL sounds go through headphones when they are plugged in. Help!

I find it quite irritating too and I don't have this phone or the Nexus. I didn't know I'd have to have mute or vibrate on before using headphones.

Make sure your jack is plugged in all the way. If not, like with headphones on your stereo, you'll get sound on both the device and the headphones.

Was wondering this as well. I thought I was hearing things. :-)

With bluetooth it plays the sound on both, about 1/5 second delay to the tooth. It sort of makes sense in a way, if you have your earpiece out but still want to hear notifications, or if you are away from phone with tooth in you can still hear them. I can understand in some cases it will be annoying.
