Default How to update PRL to Verizon, and make it STICK?

So I followed <-- these instructions for updating PRL to roam on Verizon. Before any bashing occurs, I know the risks, but 3G where I live is unbearable. I don't know if it reset back to Sprint PRL after reboot, or a certain action, but it did. Anyone changed theirs successfully? If so, how did you get to stay, even after a reboot?

Download the Verizon hacked prl from xda-developers. Afterward, rename the .prl to Test.prl or TEST.prl and save it on the root of your internal SD card. Then dial ##DATA# and it will bring you to the data programming menu. Click on "view" then click on "PRL Write". The phone will then reboot and the hacked prl should be loaded. You can verify by looking at the PRL version under device status. The PRL version should be 1. If it is still the sprint prl, just repeat the same steps. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times before it finally loads correctly.

Once it is loaded, It will permanently stick to the device unless you change it. You can easily revert back to the sprint prl by selecting "Update PRL" under system update.

Below is speedtest with verizon.prl. I wish Sprint was this fast on 3g.

Just be aware forcing your phone to only roam on Verizon could jepordize your Sprint account. Sprint may have unlimited everything but that doesnt mean roaming is unlimited. If you use more than 300minutes per month or a majority of your data useage is on roaming, Sprint can terminate your service if they catch you. So just be careful.

What are the risks you refer to? I am not familiar with PRL hacking. Also, must the phone be rooted?

    Thanks.

The risk is that Sprint may decide to terminate his contract for roaming abuse.
