Issues using/swapping with third party batteries
So I went ahead and ordered myself two of the Anker 2200mAh batteries from Amazon since they were $8 each. I fully charged both using a standalone charger. My problem is that when using the Anker batteries, my phone claims they are only at 89% when put in on a full charge. If I put a fully charged Anker in after removing the OEM, the battery stats read as if the stock battery was still in the phone while still saying the battery itself is only at 89%. If I then put in the other full Anker, I'll still be at 89%, but my time on battery seems random. A friend also gave me a "Samsung" battery of questionable origin. (Who am I kidding? It's a knock-off from China...) Same problem. Fully charged, the phone says it's at 89%, etc.
I've also tried charging the stock battery in the battery charger and popping it back in after using one of the Anker batteries for a while, and everything seems normal as soon as the Samsung battery is back in. If it's full, it says it's at 100%...
Also worth mentioning is that if I charge the Anker batteries overnight while in the phone, the phone never recognizes them as being fully charged. I think I've gotten up to 94%, but I've never made it to 100%. It's kind of hard to tell, but they all, fake Samsung included, seem to be depleting at the same rate as the stock battery would. They're fully functional in the sense that they power the phone, but it's impossible to figure out how much of a charge is really left.
Is anyone else swapping batteries and having this issue? I've always kept backup batteries with my other phones and switched them out regularly without ever running across a problem like this. For what it's worth, I get good battery life, I'm not yet rooted and have received the LG8 update. I've been having this problem for a few days now, and it was also an issue prior to LG8.
