Is there a 4G icon on the status bar when connected?
Just wondering if there is a 4G icon that shows up in the top status bar when you're connected to 4G, or do you need to do a speedtest to verify?

Yes. The 3G icon become 4G.
4G was just turned on in a town north of Baltimore. I saw the 4G icon last night.
BTW: Speed test was 10MB download, 5 MB upload. - 08-18-2012, 08:25 PM

Yeah, I heard B-more was getting turned on. I don't think it's hit Philly yet. Considering they did Atlanta first, and then Baltimore, seems like Sprint is going in alphabetical order. Haha. You'd figure they would hit NY, LA, SF, first, with Phila, DC, Seattle, next. But, no. Also, anyone know if Sprint is pushing out Jellybean? I know it's a diff forum thread, but if someone can answer it here, that would rule. Thanks in advance!!

What's the ping time in it? I keep hearing "our 4g is faster" because download test say so. But the latency (ping time) is real high. I would rather a 10mg with a low ping then a 20mb with a high ping.

how exactly does the 4g work? Is it like the evo or s2 where you had to switch it on or off? Or is it automatic?

That's a bummer. I was hoping of having the option of toggling it on or off.
